Jewelry Design
I like to create contemporary fine jewelry pieces with rare gems. Understanding how a stone will look best in a design is a difficult part of the process and this is what I try to accomplish. Some designs take attention away from the central gemstones and concentrate on intricate work with small stones, giving life to elaborate creations.
I like to use small stones to stress and stimulate the qualities of the main protagonists in the jewel. I like to think in which way one particular stone can look its best or make another stone look better. Some stones look better alone in a solitary setting. Others will look best combined with different stones of similar color and other will look best combined with other highly contrasting stones.
The search turns into a way of communication, interpretation and translation between us and the mineral-natural world. Many try to modify some of the natural characteristics of a stone to fit a particular design image.
I like to help the gems show themselves at their best, and make them show their hidden qualities. If you listen well, the design will not be forced. It becomes a path that begins thinking about what we want to create and ends with what wants to be created. Seasoned artists understand this well.
I create pieces with a bold modern feel but elegant look, sleek lines, unconventional settings, and only sometimes, impeccable design.
